Multi-disciplinary approach to Crime Prevention in Ethekwini
KwaZulu-Natal: The South African Police Service members were out in their numbers, as they held an Ethekwini Outer South Cluster multi-disciplinary operation throughout the Ethekwini Outer South Cluster area led by the Ethekwini Outer South Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier G.S Singh and his eight Station Commanders representing Amanzimtoti, Bhekithemba, Folweni, Isipingo, Kwamakhuta, Umbumbulu, Umkomaas and Umlazi SAPS. The operation involved over 170 members from Metro Police, RTI, Detectives and a number of members, from all police stations in Ethekwini Outer South Cluster.
The multi-disciplinary operation was conducted and aimed at crime prevention, searching for wanted suspects and maintaining high police visibility within the Cluster. However, the main objective of the operation was to ensure that residents feel safe and that the police are there to protect and serve. The police together with various law enforcement agencies remain committed to ensure that through Operation Paseka no serious crime takes place during this Easter period in the Ethekwini Outer South Cluster area.
Together the members conducted joint Vehicle Check Points (VCP’s), Stop and Searches and foot patrols. The members were positioned on the ground through high police visibility aiming to ensure safety and security for all community members and a zero tolerance approach towards crime.
Brigadier Singh and his officers are serious and committed to address crime in the Ethekwini Outer South area during the Easter Period. Brigadier Singh and his team of crime fighters are ready to protect and serve in joint collaboration with various role players.
“I want the community to feel safe and supported by the police this Easter. These various operations are linked to the PASEKA Festive Season Operational Plans and will be ongoing during the Easter holidays.” said Brigadier Singh.
