Just before 9am this morning, Saturday 03 June 2017, Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of a very serious collision involving a minibus taxi on North Coast road near Blackburn.
Reports from the scene indicate that two minibus taxi’s and car collided, one of the minibuses then crashed into a wall of a nearby business.
Paramedics assessed approximately 20 people at the scene and attended to 14 with injuries; 12 had sustained relatively minor injuries, 1 had moderate injuries and the front passenger of the taxi had sustained serious injuries.
Fire fighters used the “Jaws of Life” to access the wrecked minibus taxi to access two of the occupants.
The patients were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further assessment and care.
The scene was also attended by the Metro Police and SAPS.
One of the drivers of the minibus taxi’s involved was detained by police.
