Fatal accident N1 Sable road in Cape Town

At around 9 am on Sunday morning, paramedics from Cape Town responded to the scene of a serious accident that had taken place on the N1 at Sable road.
According to scene reports, a man had parked his vehicle at the side of the highway when he then got out and attempted to cross the road. A motorcyclist was travelling along the road at the time and collided into the man who was crossing.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the pedestrian has sustained extensive injuries. He was unconscious and needed urgent care. His condition deteriorated to the point where paramedics initiated CPR efforts but there was no change in his condition and he could not be revived. Despite all of their efforts the man was later pronounced dead on scene.
The motorcyclist suffered critical injuries and under Advanced Life Support care was rushed to Groote Schuur hospital by ambulance.
Police are still investigating the exact sequence of events leading up to this fatal accident taking place.
