Pedestrian critical after collision, Pietermaritzburg
A 28-year-old man is in a critical condition after he was hit by a light motor vehicle on the N3 highway near New England, Pietermaritzburg.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene and on arrival, found the patient lying in the centre medium between the two highways.
On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had sustained a serious head injury and was in a critical condition.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided him with advanced life support treatment. Once treated, he was transported to Greys Hospital for further treatment.
Fortunately the occupants in the light motor vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
