7 injured in Durban Argyle and Umgeni Road-crash

At 18h35 on Tuesday night Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision at the intersection of Argyle and Umgeni Roads. Reports from the scene indicate that the taxi collided into the side of an Opel. Exact detail will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the intersection littered with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles. After the injured were examined they found that a man in his twenties sustained life-threatening injuries, one person sustained serious injuries while five escaped with minor injuries.

Paramedics worked fervently at the scene to stabilise the injured. A the Netcare advanced life support paramedic placed the critically wounded man on a ventilator before they transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The other patients were treated at the scene and then transported by various ambulance services to a nearby hospital.
