Suspected female drug dealer arrested at OR Tambo International Airport

Gauteng: On Sunday afternoon, 06 November 2016, members of the Trans-National Investigation Team based at the OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA), intercepted and arrested a 34-year-old woman for allegedly dealing in drugs.

The arrest followed shortly after members of the team conducted a routine search and discovered cocaine wrapped around her body weighing 2360 grams, with an estimated street value of R708 00-00. The suspect was in transit to Angola from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The suspect will be appearing in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on 8 November 2016.

The police will continue to participate in endeavors to intercept these harmful substances before they find their way into our communities and to address the causes of crime, preventing all acts which may threaten the safety or security of the community and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
