Three suspected gold dealers were arrested for theft under false pretence.
A 48-year-old man and his wife from Pretoria were cheated with a fake gold nugget and they handed cash that amount of R20 000-00 to the suspects. The incident was reported to Welkom Police which led to the arrest of three suspects. A fake gold nugget, their cell phones and a red Honda Ballade were seized.
They will appear in the Welkom Court soon.
