Three people were injured in the early hours of this morning when a light motor vehicle rear-ended a truck on the R511 near the M26 in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene and found both the truck and light motor vehicle parked on the side of the road.
The three occupants from the light motor vehicle, a man, woman and one-year-old boy, were found seated outside the vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained serious injuries while the woman and young child had sustained only minor injuries.
Paramedics treated all three patients and provided the man with advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, all three patients were transported to Kalafong Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the truck fortunately did not sustain any injuries.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations as well as for scene safety.
