AARTO Friday visits Hammanskraal

The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) informs the motorists and general public of the AARTO Friday community activation programme which will take place in Hammanskraal (Temba), Jubilee Road on Friday 27 November 2020 at 09:00. The RTIA has adopted the AARTO Friday campaign to take AARTO services closer to the road user community.

The RTIA, in partnership with Gauteng Department of Community Safety (GDoCS), takes this opportunity to invite members of the public to visit the AARTO Mobile Offices during AARTO Friday so as to take advantage of various AARTO service offerings that will be rendered on the day. The AARTO Friday campaign, delivered through AARTO Mobile Offices in a form of buses, will continue to visit various Driving License Testing Centres (DLTCs) and malls in Gauteng.

According the RTIA CEO, Mr Japh Chuwe, the AARTO Fridays initiative will go a long way in ensuring that the AARTO rollout significantly contributes in creating awareness among motorists of their rights and options as contained in the AARTO Act. In the end, says Mr Chuwe, the RTIA seeks to ensure that road users comply with traffic laws, especially AARTO, towards zero fatalities on our roads.

The campaign is in support of the various AARTO Service Outlets that are situated in the visited road user community sites. Once in the bus, road users are assisted to check their AARTO infringement status, and are advised on how to resolve their AARTO infringements by selecting from the available legislated elective options.

All motorists visiting the AARTO Mobile Offices will be required to take extra precautions during this difficult time of Covid-19, by adhering to social distancing protocols, make use of face masks and hand-sanitise to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

AARTO will be implemented throughout South Africa as from 01 July 2021.
