A 49-year-old Indian national fell victim to a brazen theft of his cellphone in full view of the public in the Verulam CBD – KZN today (Friday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene and were informed by the male that he was attempting to phone a friend to arrange a pick-up when he was suddenly accosted by an unidentified male on Wick Street. The suspect snatched his Samsung A15 mobile phone and fled the scene, sprinting towards Todd Street in the Central Business District (CBD) – KZN. The man was left shaken but unharmed.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspect, but no arrests were made.
