Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Voskuil visits crime prevention operations in the Cape Metropole

WESTERN CAPE – As part of ongoing crime prevention interventions, Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Preston Voskuil conducted visits to several police operations on Tuesday night to ensure that criminals continue to feel the presence of law enforcement in vulnerable communities such as Mitchell’s Plain, Grassy Park, Nyanga and Khayelitsha.

The focus of these operations is the confiscation of illegal firearms, ammunition, drugs and dangerous weapons, all of which are key contributors to serious and violent crime. Tracing teams are also deployed to track down wanted suspects.

Major General Voskuil encouraged members involved in these operations to remain steadfast in their efforts to bring offenders to justice and to ensure that those who choose to live outside the law are held accountable.

These interventions form part of the SAPS’s broader strategy to stabilize affected areas and create a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
