Police in Hlanganani seek public assistance in locating a missing woman and her child

The South African Police Service in Hlanganani is urgently appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating a missing woman and her child, who disappeared without a trace two months ago.

According to available information, Khavisa Abigail Mthombeni (29) and her five-year-old son, Khanimamba Mthombeni, were last seen on 20 April 2025 at approximately 10:00, when they left their home in Tiyani Village, Mangurwani Section. She informed her brother that she was traveling to Polokwane and left in the company of an unknown African male. The man is described as dark in complexion, short in stature, heavyset, and wearing a Shell garage uniform at the time.

The last known contact with Mthombeni was via a phone call on 30 April 2025. Since then, all communication has ceased, and no further sightings have been reported, raising serious concerns about the wellbeing of both mother and child.

Mthombeni is described as medium in height, dark in complexion, and heavyset. She was last seen wearing a grey jersey.

Police are urging anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Khavisa Abigail Mthombeni and her son to immediately contact Hlanganani SAPS on 079 890 1408 or the investigating officer, Captain Marivate, on 082 468 8673. Alternatively, information can be shared via Crime Stop number 08600 10111, the nearest police station or through the MySAPS App.

Tip-offs may be given anonymously, and all information received will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and followed up accordingly.
