Two foreign national suspects to appear in court for possession of suspected stolen goat in Siloam
POLOKWANE – Two male suspects, aged 31 and 38, are expected to appear before the Dzanani Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, following their arrest for possession of a suspected stolen goat on Saturday, 18 October 2025.
The suspects were arrested at approximately 17:00 during a routine police patrol along the R523 road in the Siloam policing area, Vhembe District. Police had received a tip-off about a white panel van allegedly transporting stolen livestock.
The vehicle, which was travelling from Dzanani towards Siloam, was spotted by police officers conducting patrols. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers found two male occupants inside and requested to conduct a search.
During the search, officers discovered one goat tied with a rope in the back of the vehicle. The suspects failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for being in possession of the livestock, in contravention of Section 6 and Section 8 of the Stock Theft Act.
The goat, valued at approximately R2 000.00, was seized, and both suspects were arrested on the spot. They were charged with possession of suspected stolen livestock.
