One killed, child injured in collision in Vanderbijlpark
One person was killed and four others injured in a collision involving a bakkie and a light motor vehicle. The collision occurred in Vanderbijlpark on the corners of Langenhoven and Faraday Roads in the early hours of this morning. Services in scene found four occupants in the bakkie and only person in the light motor vehicle.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that one of the passengers in the bakkie, a woman, had sustained fatal injuries. Unfortunately nothing could be done for the patient and she was declared dead on scene. The other occupants of the bakkie, two men and a child of about nine, was left with minor to moderate injuries. The occupant of the light motor vehicle was treated for shock and sustained minor injuries.
ER24 treated and transported two patients to Emfuleni Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported to hospital by other medical services on scene.
The cause of the incident remains unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
