Pretoria multi vehicle collision leaves one dead-three injured
At 08h31 on Monday morning Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a three vehicle collision on the R101 in Pyramid, Gauteng. Exact detail to the cause of the collision and preceding events is still speculative and will remain a subject for the South African Police to investigate.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the roadway littered with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicle consistent with that of a high impact collision. After the injured were triaged it was found that two people sustained life-threatening injuries, while two others were in a serious condition.
One of the critically wounded went into cardiac arrest at the scene, Netcare 911 paramedics worked fervently to resuscitate the man but despite all their effort the man was declared dead at the scene. The three other patients were treated at the scene before medics transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
