Glen Glory road, Benoni North, GP

Two men have been injured after they were involved in a collision while travelling on Glen Glory road in Benoni North. According to witnesses, it appears that a Hyundai H100 pulled into the road just in front of the security vehicle and the bakkie then collided into the side of it.

As a result of the impact the H100 flipped over onto it’s side and both vehicles came to rest at the side of the road.

The driver of the H100 needed to be assisted out of the vehicle by paramedics and rescuers. He had sustained multiple broken bones and they broke through the windshield in order to remove the injured man. Despite the severity of his injuries he remained alert throughout treatment and was transported to Linmed hospital for further care.

The driver of the security bakkie suffered what appeared to be a broken shoulder and knee and he too was assisted from his vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Life Glynnwood hospital.

At this time, police are investigating the exact cause of this crash and as to who was at fault in the cause.
