Intelligence driven operation leads to the arrest of three suspects for the possession of drugs in Oudtshoorn
An intelligence driven operation aimed at drug outlets in Oudtshoorn resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the confiscation of drugs. These operations form part of ongoing efforts by police to close down drug outlets in communities.
On Sunday, 08 June 2025 at about 15:00 Garden Route District Crime Combatting Team and Crime Intelligence armed with a searched warrant raided a house at Gemsbok Avenue, Bridgeton in Oudtshoorn. Upon searching the premises, the vigilant members found 131 mandrax tablets concealed under a pillow. Police confiscated the drugs and arrested a 30 year old man found on the premises.
Later the same day (2025-06-08) the team pounced on a premises at Dahlia Court in Oudtshoorn. On arrival the members found a juvenile on site. A searched ensued leading to the confiscation of ten mandrax tablets found in the possession of the 16 year old. He was subsequently arrested for his possession thereof.
Thereafter, the team proceeded to a third premises at Dassie Street, Oudtshoorn where a small quantity of mandrax was confiscated. The confiscation led to the arrest of a 31-year-old suspect.
The suspects were remanded in police custody. They will appear in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates’ Court once charged. The suspects are facing a charge of possession of drugs.
