The R521 road, 10 kilometres outside Polokwane to Dendron, remains closed due to a serious accident involving a Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) tanker and a Light Delivery Vehicle (LDV) on 28 July 2025, which carried flammable liquid posing an explosion risk.
Current Status:
– The road will remain closed until specialists declare it safe and the truck recovery is complete.
– Motorists are advised to use alternative roads.
Alternative routes:
– Moletji Road at Mmakgodu to Moshate
– R567 Seshego/Moletji Road
