Mangaung Metro welcomes revellers from all walks of life
BLOEMFONTEIN – Mangaung Metro Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure [DistrictJOINTS] continues to provide safety and security to revellers who traveled to celebrate the festivities offered by Cufa: “Re a cufasela” and Lemo Fest: “re ya kasi”. The multidisciplinary integrated forces continue with operations to assert the authority of the State.
Members of Mangaung Metro Crime Combating Unit received and operationalised intelligence. A 51-year-old male was arrested in H2-Section Botshabelo after the police intercepted the suspect on route to commit robbery allegedly at Reahola Shopping Complex. The police seized a Black pistol with a magazine loaded with three rounds of ammunition. A case docket of Possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition was opened at Botshabelo Police Station.
The team also arrested 28-year-old male in possession of a 9mm pistol and a loaded magazine. The firearm was tested and it was reported stolen during house robbery in F-Section Boithuso.
Further policing actions were carried out in identified crime hot spots across different police precincts in Mangaung Metro. Two suspects were arrested for Possession of drugs. Four others were arrested for driving motor vehicle whilst under the influence of intoxicating substance in terms of Road Traffic Act. A total of 20 more persons were arrested for transgression of Refugees Act and Immigration Act.
Suspects will appear before various Courts soon. Policing actions continue in Mangaung Metro.
