Suspect arrested on a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle
A 38-year-old male suspect is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 06 July 2026, on a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle following his arrest by members of the #SAPS Limpopo Provincial Flying Squad on Friday, 04 July 2026.
The arrest follows positive information received from an off-duty member of the Provincial Flying Squad regarding a sought vehicle parked at Mall of the North in Polokwane.
Police swiftly responded to the information and located the vehicle with the suspect in possession thereof. Preliminary investigations confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen at Norkem Park SAPS in Gauteng Province during June 2026. The suspect was immediately arrested, and the vehicle was seized for further investigation.
The 38-year-old suspect is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 06 July 2026, facing a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, commended the vigilance of the off-duty police officer and the swift response by members of the Provincial Flying Squad, which resulted in the successful recovery of the stolen vehicle and the arrest of the suspect.
Police investigations are continuing.
