Motorist Found Deceased Near Vehicle: Tongaat – KZN
A man was found deceased near his silver Honda Civic sedan on a link road which connects Watson Highway in Tongaat to King Shaka International Airport in KZN, this afternoon (Friday, 12/06/2026).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched by the scene at approximately 18:53 after receiving reports of a motor vehicle accident. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered the South African Police Service (SAPS) and a private ambulance service in attendance.
Information gathered established that the Honda Civic had left the roadway and entered dense vegetation. According to the driver’s colleagues on scene, they were alerted by the vehicle’s tracking company after a signal indicated that the vehicle had remained stationary for approximately an hour at the location.
Emergency personnel located the vehicle in the bush and conducted a search of the surrounding area. The driver was thereafter discovered approximately 15 metres from the vehicle. He was declared deceased at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been established.
