Roadside Shooting Leaves Man Seriously Injured: Cottonlands – KZN
A man was left seriously injured after he was shot multiple times while standing near a tavern in Cottonlands – KZN during the early hours of this morning (Saturday, 13/06/2026).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched at approximately 00:56 following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers established that the victim had already been transported privately for medical attention. A search of the area led to the recovery of six (6) spent cartridges and blood.
It was subsequently established that the victim had been standing on the roadside near a local tavern in Cottonlands – KZN when an armed male approached him on foot and allegedly opened fire before fleeing the scene in a silver vehicle. The make, model and registration number of the getaway vehicle could not be established. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head, neck and upper body.
The motive for the shooting has not been established.
