Road safety enforcement targeting delivery motorcycles operating in the Edleen and Thembisa area.
Between Tuesday 09 and Wednesday 10 December 2025, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Northern Region Officers, conducted a Regional Strategic Operation, targeting delivery motorcycles operating in the Edleen and Thembisa area.
The operation focused on law enforcement of the National Road Traffic Act (NRTA), driver and vehicle fitness, Illegal operations, including undocumented individuals and unroadworthy motorcycles
The operation was a success with an outcome of x52 Motorcycles impounded, x21 Suspected illegal immigrants arrested, 11 traffic fines issued, x1 arrest for drunk driving and x1 arrest for fraudulent documents.
These operations will continue to ensure compliance and road safety in the Northern Region.
