Police in Limpopo have intensified crime-fighting efforts through #OperationShanela, leading to the arrest of 810 suspects for various serious offences and the recovery of seven firearms during coordinated operations conducted across the province between 23 February and 03 March 2026.
The arrests include 247 illegal immigrants, 84 suspects for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), 45 suspects for illegal dealing in liquor, and 10 suspects for armed robbery, among other serious offences.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, applauded the members for their continued dedication and resilience.
Some of the arrested suspects have already appeared before various Magistrate’s Courts across the province, while investigations continue.
