Gabriel Shock Absorbers – Five Year Unlimited Km Extended Warranty Option Gains Traction

August 13, 2013 • News

Gabriel’s five year unlimited-kilometer extended warranty shock absorber programme for retail spares, workshops and fitment centers is now available nationally through Gabriel’s brand marketing teams.

Customers purchasing Gabriel shock absorbers under this warranty programme will have their shocks guaranteed for an additional two years; taking their warranty from the normal three years to five years, with no limit on the kilometers travelled.

“This follows a successful pilot programme with 100 stores where the uptake of the campaign exceeded expectations,” said Sean Staley, Control Instruments-Automotive Divisional Executive – Ride Control.

“Stores adopting the programme have seen a significant increase in product sales. This is confirmation of the trust that our customers and consumers have in the Gabriel brand and quality,” he said.

“Our initial target was to sell two extended warrantees for every 10 shocks sold, but in the first few weeks of the programme we doubled this figure and it is consistently growing,” he said.

“The retail stores recognise the benefits of the campaign and have enthusiastically embraced it. Vehicle owners are now able to register their warranty at their convenience and not rely on the retailer to do so. This registration is through a simple call-in process via Gabriel’s national call center. On registration, the consumer receives a unique reference number and it’s this number that will allow them to claim at any one of the 4500 retail stores that support Gabriel in SA.”

“Gabriel strives to be first to market with its retail growth programmes and the extended warranty offering is another example of forward-thinking initiatives and commitments to support retail customer growth under the SafeZone 2.6 umbrella,” said Mr Staley.

“Our customers’ needs are always at the forefront of our planning, aimed at assisting in their growth,” he said.

“For 2013, we are committed to continuing with more initiatives directed at the retail market and assisting Gabriel outlets in increasing sales while promoting vehicle safety.”
