Melkbosstrand, Western Cape    30 September
A search and rescue operation was launched yesterday afternoon after reports came in that a young boy had gone missing in the ocean at Melkbosstrand in the Western Cape.
Rescue workers assisted by an aerial search initially proved that no one could be found.
Rescue divers then proceeded into the water in search of the boy.
The boy was later found and unfortunately nothing further could be done for him as it is believed that he had drowned and he was declared deceased.
It is unknown what the conditions were at the time or what lead to his disappearance in the ocean.
