Pedestrian critical after hit-and-run, Malboro

A man was left critically injured this morning after he was hit by a light motor vehicle on the N3 Highway near the Malboro off-ramp, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene, and on arrival, they found the patient lying on the road near the off-ramp.

On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had sustained severe injuries to his head and legs, and was in a critical condition.

Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately performed on the patient to stablise his vital signs.

Once treated, the patient was transported to Johannesburg General Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The vehicle that collided with the pedestrian was not found on scene.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
