Truck hijacking suspect wounded in shootout with police
Today at about 09:30, police received a description of two armed suspects following a truck hijacking at Atteridgeville hostel. Members patrolled the area and spotted the suspects driving a truck. As soon as they saw the police, they abandoned the truck and a shooting ensued between the suspects and the police. One suspect, aged 36, was shot and wounded the other suspect fled on foot.
A 9mm pistol was recovered and a case of truck-jacking and possession of an unlicensed firearm will be opened for investigation.
