Man injured after truck rolls down embankment in Pietermaritzburg

A man in his 30s was left seriously injured this morning after his truck rolled down an embankment on a district road near Table Mountain Road in Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene shortly after 09h00 and found the truck lying some distance away from the road. It was evident to paramedics that the truck had rolled multiple times, ejecting the lone occupant.

On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had sustained severe injuries and was in a serious condition.

Paramedics treated the patient and provided him with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, paramedics, using rescue equipment, hoisted the patient back to the road and awaiting ambulance. He was transported to Northdale Hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
