Man crushed between two trucks

A man believed to be in his thirties is in a critical condition after being pinned between two heavy goods vehicles this afternoon.

Crisis Medical paramedics were called to the scene on Peters Road, Redhill and on arrival found the man wedged between the two vehicles having sustained life threatening injuries.

Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize the man before he was placed on to a mechanical ventilator to assist him in breathing. Once stabilized a delicate extrication process took place as emergency services worked to free the man who was then taken to hospital for the immediate care he required.

It’s unclear what caused the incident but bystanders allege the man was working on the vehicle when it’s parking breaks failed causing it to roll forward.

The necessary investigations will be done.

The man remains in a critical condition.
