Newcastle man injured in shooting
A 30-year-old man was injured this afternoon after a shooting incident at a shopping centre on Scott Street in Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 15h00 this afternoon when they were alerted by the SAPS.
On arrival, paramedics found the patient lying near the bank next to the shopping centre., surrounded by SAPS members.
Assessments showed that the patient had sustained two gunshot wounds, one to his chest and another to his leg.
ER24 paramedics quickly treated the patient and thereafter transported him to Madadeni Hospital for further treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
