10 Injured in taxi crash after alleged brake failure

Last night at 18:30 EMER-G-MED’s RV6, M07 and A09 responded to reports of a serious collision on Beyers Naude Drive outside the West Cemetary in Roosevelt Park – north of Johannesburg.

Paramedics arrived on the scene minutes later finding that a taxi had rolled off the road, allegedly after the brakes failed and the driver lost control.

Ten passengers were injured in the collision, fortunately sustaining only minor to moderate injuries.

The patients were treated on-scene before being transported by EMER-G-MED and other services to a variety of nearby facilities for further care.

JMPD were on-scene to investigate.
