MEC Kaunda participates in roadblock at Park Rynie

The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda participated in a multi-disciplinary roadblock today at Park Rynie along the N2 in preparation for the Easter long weekend.

Over 200 vehicles were stopped and 13 drivers were charged for various transgressions.

After the roadblock, MEC Kaunda handed over bicycles to Fingqindlela High School learners who are travelling more than three kilometres to and from school.

MEC Kaunda also convened a community meeting to outline road infrastructure programmes the department has planned for the area, which includes the construction of the Gumatane Vehicular bridge.
