The Sandspruit River Vehicle Bridge is located on D2264 in the Bergville Area between Woodford and Bethany over the Sandspruit River, in the Okhahlamba Local Municipality, in the UThukela District.

The construction of the bridge over the Sandspruit River assists the local communities by providing safe and all weather access to Thokoza High School, Jabulani Primary School, Woodford Primary School, Ekwaluseni High School, Intaba Primary School, Ebhetheni Primary School, Bergville Christian Academy, Bergville Pre-Primary School, Bergville Primary School, Bergville Local Authority Clinic, Okhahlamba Provincial Health Ward, Bergville PHC Mobile Base 1 & 2 and churches.

This bridge replaced the old dilapidated bridge and is 45 metres in length consisting of 3 spans of 15 metres long x 5.7 metres wide x 0.8 metres thick, and raised 4 metres from the lowest point of the river bed allowing the bridge to clear a predicted 10-year flood.

Construction of the bridge commenced in the 2015/16 financial year, and was successfully completed during the 2016/17 financial year at the total cost budget of R5 million. The construction of the bridge created 15 job opportunities.
