The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety has issued a flood warning for the Vhembe District due to heavy downpours causing widespread flooding.
Affected Roads and Bridges:
– Mutele village Tshandama road – FLOODED
– Folovhodwe Bridge to Musina – FLOODED
– Guyuni Bridge – BROKEN
Safety Advisory:
– Motorists & Pedestrians: DO NOT attempt to cross flooded roads or bridges.
– School Learners: Extra caution is needed, especially near flooded areas.
– Parents: Monitor your children’s movement to and from school if their route includes flooded crossings.
Drivers of bakkies and other vehicles are urged NOT to underestimate the power of floodwater. Attempting to cross low-lying bridges is extremely dangerous and can be fatal.
