Drug trafficking suspect successfully tracked and stopped at the N3 Mayville off-ramp.
On Wednesday, 22 April 2026, a multi-disciplinary intelligence-driven operation led to the successful interception of a suspected drug trafficking vehicle travelling from Gauteng to Durban.
Information was received regarding a vehicle transporting drugs, and the description was circulated to operational teams. The suspect vehicle initially evaded law enforcement at Mooi Plaza; however, through coordinated efforts and external support, it was successfully tracked and stopped at the N3 Mayville off-ramp.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of approximately 500 grams of pure heroin.
The driver, a foreign national, was placed under arrest.
It was further established that the suspect had previously been arrested by the same team in March.
