Heightened police visibility is continuing in Mpumalanga Province this Easter weekend as police are ensuring the safety of all residents and visitors in the Mpumalanga Province.

Roadblocks are conducted on National, Regional and other main roads to check for illicit goods, illegal activities, reckless and negligent driving and to curb drunken driving that contributes to road fatalities.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the police in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Mkhwanazi, is still calling for the community to work with the police and cooperate during this Easter weekend.

“We appeal to the community to cooperate with the police officers, obey road rules, refrain from drinking and driving and to be active partners in ensuring a peaceful Easter weekend. From the side of the police, we are doing our part as we have intensified operations and deployed more boots on the ground.”

The community is urged to report suspicious activities and criminal incidents immediately to the #CrimeStop number at 08600 10111 or via the #MySAPSApp.
