Tshwane Metro Police Department impounded 17 public transport vehicles and enforced municipal by-laws in areas of Tshwane
The Tshwane Metro Police Department is strictly enforcing City by-laws by conducting inspections at informal and formal businesses to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and to eliminate hazardous elements.
The operation was conducted in Pretoria West on 19 May 2026, where four business premises were inspected and Section 56 notices were issued for contraventions of the Business Act. In addition, two fire notices were issued for contraventions of fire safety regulations, as well as one notice issued in terms of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act.
Furthermore, the TMPD Public Transport Unit conducted operations in areas including the R80 and Bremer Street, impounding 17 minibuses and one e-hailing vehicle for operating without valid operating licences.
TMPD remains determined to ensure that all legal protocols are obeyed and will not tolerate unlawful behaviour that compromises the lives of Tshwane residents.
