Six motorists arrested for drunk driving in Daveytown
On Saturday 06 June 2026 at 15:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Daveyton Precinct Officers, in conjunction with the National Traffic Police and the Daveyton South Africa Police Service (SAPS) Officers, arrested six (6) male motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol during an operation conducted in the Daveyton area.
Officers were conducting routine roadblock with intensified stop-and-search, when they intercepted several vehicles. The suspects, aged between thirty (30) and fifty (50), failed the breathalyzer tests and exceeded the legal limit permissible to operate a motor vehicle.
All six suspects were detained and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. They are expected to appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court soon to face charges.
