November 17, 2025 • News

Two suspects are expected to appear in the Douglas Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 17 November 2025, on charges of possession of suspected stolen meat. The pair, aged 34 and 38, were allegedly found in possession of meat for which they could not provide a valid explanation.

On Saturday, 15 November 2025, at approximately 16:45, police members were conducting patrols in Long Street, Campbell, when they noticed two males carrying two bags. When questioned about the contents of the bags, the suspects failed to give a satisfactory response. The members proceeded to search the bags.

During the search, police allegedly discovered fresh meat inside one of the bags and requested proof of purchase. The suspects were unable to provide any documentation or clear answers. Officers continued with further investigation, and the two men ultimately led them to a municipal grazing camp, where they found the head, intestines, hooves and skin of a recently slaughtered sheep.

Both suspects were arrested charged for possession of suspected stolen meat.
