Three occupants of vehicle found in possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, laptops, and cellphones suspected to be stolen.
Three suspects who are linked with business and house robberies in and around the eThekwini District were arrested by Durban Central police officers in the Durban CBD on Thursday, 11 December 2025.
Police were conducting a crime prevention operation along Dr Pixley KaSeme Street when they received intelligence about a vehicle whose occupants were allegedly robbing people of their belongings. The vehicle matching the description was intercepted and, during the subsequent search, the three occupants of the vehicle were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, laptops, and cellphones suspected to be stolen.
Preliminary investigations linked the suspects to the robbery of laptops and cellphones at a school in KwaMashu, the robbery of a teacher at a school in Ntuzuma, as well as a house robbery in KwaMakhutha.
The suspects, aged between 18 and 23, were arrested and will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 15 December 2025.
