Vehicle Fire Reported on Old Main Road, No Injuries
A routine journey quickly turned into an emergency on Tuesday morning, 16 December 2025, when a vehicle caught alight on Old Main Road, in Durban.
Just after 09h40 AM, KZNVIP Control Centre received information regarding a vehicle on fire on Old Main Road. All available KZNVIP Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, KZNVIP Officers interviewed the driver, who advised that while travelling he noticed smoke coming from the engine bay. After stopping to investigate, he observed that the engine bay was on fire. The circumstances leading up to the fire cannot be determined at this stage.
The Fire Department arrived on scene and successfully extinguished the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
All emergency services were in attendance.
