Provincial Safer Festive Season Operation Shanela II, SAPS Kagiso, West Rand District
GAUTENG – The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni led yet another successful multidisciplinary high-density safer festive season Operation Shanela 2 in Kagiso policing precinct, West Rand District at a roadblock 22 individuals arrested for drunk and driving. A total of 21 illegal immigrants were apprehended, one possession of drugs and one arrested for dealing in drugs. In Florida, one suspect was arrested for possession of over 100 rounds ammunition.
Four liquor outlets closed for non-compliance with the regulations. 33 traffic fines issued worth, R32 700 .The provincial detectives arrested 724 wanted suspects with 185 for crimes against women and children, overnight. The Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Tracing team and the Anti-Gang Unit arrested one suspect and recovered four unlicensed firearms and 222 rounds ammunition during a raid on Friday, 19 December 2025 at Yeoville.
The police patrol and conduct compliance inspections at the liquor outlets and increasing visibility around Kagiso policing precinct.
