Drug arrest made in Ficksburg
Efforts to rid the Free State Province of illegal substances continue to yield positive results as members of the Provincial #AntiGangUnit (AGU), based in Bloemfontein, intercepted a significant drug operation in Ficksburg earlier today.
AGU members currently deployed in the Ficksburg area acted on intelligence-led information regarding a male allegedly dealing in drugs near the Calidon Primary School.
Following the lead, operators proceeded to a specific house in Ficksburg. Upon conducting a thorough search of the premises, police discovered a variety of illegal drugs. The estimated street value of the recovered narcotics is R120 000-00. An undisclosed amount of cash, suspected to be proceeds of the illegal drug trade, was also confiscated.
A 28-year-old male was immediately arrested. The suspect faces charges of dealing in drugs and is expected to appear in the Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
The SAPS remains committed to dismantling drug networks and encourages the community to continue reporting suspicious activities to the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS App. #DrugsOffTheStreets
