Suspects arrested in Newcastle for dealing in drugs.

On Tuesday, 3 February 2026, police in KwaZulu-Natal, working with private security personne,l arrested two suspects aged between 34 and 37 in Newcastle for dealing in drugs.
Members from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit had received information of an individual who had collected drugs from Gauteng and was travelling back to Newcastle.

The suspected individual was monitored until the team pounced on him at the Newcastle Central Business District. The suspect was found in possession of drugs and a search at his residence led to the recovery of crystal meth. The 37-year-old suspect, who is out on bail on a drug-related matter was placed under arrest and charged for dealing in drugs.

On the same day, the team was alerted about a suspected drug dealer who was about to leave his house with a large quantity of drugs. Police officers managed to corner the suspect just before he could leave his home. Police searched his vehicle and recovered crystal meth as well as an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was also arrested and charged for dealing in drugs.
Both suspects will appear at the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 3 February 2026 facing charges of dealing in drugs.
