A couple living in Riet River in Kwazulu Natal (road name withheld) has reported to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) that they had fled thier home fearing for their lives.

When interviewed at the RUSA Headquarters (image 2) earlier today (Friday) a 56 year old male explained that he was a tenant on a property and was responsible for collecting the monthly rent.

Another tenant on the same property had refused to pay the R3000 for his room and an altercation broke out.

The complainants live in girlfriend was assaulted with a golf stick and sustained injuries. The couple immediately left and registered a criminal case with the South African Police Service (SAPS) via Verulam CAS no. 320/03/2026. When they returned home they were again attacked with several beer bottles and the windscreen of their red Fiat Uno was extensively damaged.

According to the couple, they returned to the Police station followed by the tenant that attacked them. After an altercation at the Police station, the tenant was arrested. This could not be immediately verified by Reaction Officers.

Following the incident, the couple fled their home after receiving multiple phone calls from unknown males threatening to murder them both. Both victims are fearing for their safety as they believe that the tenant who is still in custody had arranged from prison to have them both murdered.
