Mechanic Stabbed Over Cigarette: Missionlands – KZN
A 33-year-old mechanic was stabbed earlier this week while walking across the steel bridge towards Missionlands – KZN after refusing to hand a cigarette to a passerby.
The victim arrived at the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters this afternoon (Thursday) seeking assistance. He reported that he was approached by a suspected drug user who demanded a cigarette. When he refused, the suspect became aggressive and launched a violent attack.
During the assault, the suspect made several attempts to stab the victim in the chest. The mechanic managed to fend off the attacker but sustained a stab wound during the struggle.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack and remains at large. No arrests have been reported.
