Murder suspects arrested and weapons confiscated in Limpopo

Limpopo, Maleboho. Six suspects will appear in the Bochum Magistrates’ Court on Monday on charges of murder, armed robbery and possession of unlicensed fire arms and ammunition following an incident at Glenfenis village on Thursday evening.

Six armed suspects entered a general dealer at 21:30 on Thursday evening and shot and killed two brothers, George and Joseph Lebogo, both in their 70’s. A third person was shot in the leg and taken to hospital.

The suspects took a Toyota Hilux and fled from the scene. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the village.

A manhunt was launched for the suspects and the first four was arrested on Friday morning. The remaining two were arrested during the weekend by members of Maleboho crime prevention, detectives and crime intelligence members.

Three 9mm firearms with the serial numbers filed off as well as ammunition were recovered in their possession.

The suspects are already linked to other cases in the area such as stock theft and house robberies. Investigations to link them to even more cases of armed robbery are ongoing.
