Car crashes into pole, killing two, Buccleuch
Two men were killed this afternoon when their vehicle crashed into a light pole off the N1 highway in Buchleuch, Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found a light motor vehicle smashed against a street pole. Two male occupants lay trapped inside the vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics discovered that one of the occupants had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries.
The second occupant was found lying trapped inside the vehicle in a critical condition. Fire services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the patient.
Paramedics treated the patient and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Unfortunately, after some time, the patient succumbed to their injuries and was declared dead on scene.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
