Just after 5pm Friday afternoon EMER-G-MED’s RV2 and A12 responded to reports of a serious collision on Rondebult Road closest corner Middle Road, in Boksburg.

The events leading up to the collision are unknown, but it is alleged that the taxi lost control colliding with a street pole and then caught alight.

On arrival paramedics found that the driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, had been pulled out of the burning taxi by tow truck operators – but unfortunately the patient had alread succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
